Made to Measure Kilts
Each Kilt is handsewn with meticulous detail, taking approximately 25 hours to sew a single Kilt. You can find over four thousand stitches in a handsewn Kilt, each stitch placed with precision and purpose.
A handsewn Kilt is made to stand the test of time as it is crafted with alterations & future generations in mind. Hand sewn stitches are far kinder to the Tartan material in comparison to machine sewn, further caring for the Kilts longevity.

We’ll start by taking your measurements and chatting about your tartan preferences, as well as the finer details like buckles, straps, linings, and any accessories.
This is also the perfect opportunity to discuss and refine any unique design elements you’d like included, making your Kilt truly one-of-a-kind.
Consultations can be held in the comfort of your own home or at our Dundee City Centre studio — whichever works best for you!
Pricing Example: An 8-yard, hand-sewn Kilt in a standard 100% wool tartan starts at £725.00, and comes with a FREE pair of double flashes. During your consultation, we’ll confirm the exact cost based on your chosen tartan and design details.

Once we begin crafting your Kilt, you’ll have a fitting to make sure everything fits perfectly.
This is also a chance to see how your Kilt is coming together and get a closer look at the craftsmanship behind it.

Your Kilt is now fully finished, given a final press, and ready for collection or delivery.

Kilt Alterations

For Kilts that require an adjustment of up to 2”, we can carry out a buckle and strap move.
A non-invasive alteration that allows for a ‘like-new’ fit for the wearer.

*Alteration possibility subject to Kilt construction, work required will be advise upon inspection.

For Kilts that require a 2-4” alteration, an apron increase/decrease may be required. This is where the Kilt aprons are unpicked and resewn to new measurements.

For Kilts that require an adjustment greater than 4”, a full remake may be required.
This is where the Kilt is fully taken apart, and sewn as though a new Kilt to the new measurements.
